How claiming works, step by step

Search for your shop and open its listing. Click "Claim this free listing", create a free account with your name, business email and a password, and the claim files automatically against that listing. We check it against the shop's public phone and website, claims are approved by a live person in 24-48 hours, and we email you if anything needs confirming. Once approved, the listing shows a "managed by the shop" note and you can edit it from the portal: hours by day, phone, address, categories, the towns you deliver to, and a description in your own words. Edits go live within a few minutes and appear on both LocalFlowerShop and RateAFlorist, because the two sites share one listing.

If you would rather not create an account, the quick claim form on your listing page works too. We will email you to confirm and manage the details for you. And if the listing is wrong in a way you cannot fix from the portal, or your shop is missing altogether, the contact page reaches a person who will sort it out.

What Premium buys, feature by feature

Featured placement puts your shop at the top of your town's page with a highlighted border, above every free listing. Your photo appears on your listing and next to your name in town results; a real shot of the shop or of your work does more for a call than any amount of text. Your website link goes live on the listing, so a customer who wants to browse before calling can. Homepage rotation shows your shop to visitors nationwide in the featured band on the home page. No competitor listings on your page: the "more shops in this town" section is removed from a Premium listing. The Verified Local Florist checkmark and the satisfaction guarantee behind it sit on your listing and in town results. A gallery of up to eight more photos, an announcements banner for holiday hours or a seasonal offer, and specialty tags for the work you want to be known for.

And because one listing is shared with RateAFlorist, the same Premium features show there too, plus RateAFlorist's own extras: the review carousel you can embed on your own website and the featured band on its home page. That is the $29-a-month RateAFlorist Premium, included with LocalFlowerShop Premium at no extra cost.

The arithmetic, honestly

A national relay service keeps 20 to 30 percent of every order it passes to you and charges the customer a service fee on top, so a $75 order arrives at your counter as $52 to $60 of work to do for a customer who thinks they paid you $75. Premium here costs $49 a month, or $499 a year, and takes nothing from any order, because we never touch the order. If featured placement and a photo bring you one $75 direct order a month that a relay would otherwise have skimmed, the listing has paid for itself with a better customer attached. Most shops that upgrade see the difference in the phone, not in a report: calls from people who found the shop by its own name and its own town.

How the two sites work together

LocalFlowerShop is the directory: facts, hours, phone, delivery towns, one page per shop and one per town. RateAFlorist is the review site for the same shops: moderated customer reviews, star ratings that cannot be bought, a review badge for your website and a printable review kit for the counter. One florist account works on both, edits made on either show on both, and a Premium bought here is Premium on both. Reviews are collected only on RateAFlorist, which is why this site has no review form and why every listing here links to its RateAFlorist page for them.

What we will never sell

A better rating, a competitor's removal, or your customers' details. Ratings on RateAFlorist are the plain average of moderated reviews and no amount of money changes them. Listings are removed only when a business turns out not to be a walk-in flower shop, never because another shop asked. And the people who call you from a listing are your customers, not ours; we do not collect their details and we have nothing to sell.

Keeping your listing accurate

The facts that matter most to a caller are the ones that drift: hours around holidays, a phone that moved with a new system, a delivery radius that grew when you hired a second driver. From the portal, hours are edited day by day with a "closed" option for the days you are shut, delivery towns are added or removed with a search, and an announcement banner can carry a holiday schedule or a seasonal note for as long as you choose. Changes go live on both sites within minutes and are picked up by the search engines within days. A listing kept current is the single strongest signal to a customer that the shop behind it is alive and answering, which is worth more than any feature we sell.

Photos that work

The photo on a Premium listing appears at the top of your page and beside your name in town results, so it is the first thing a caller sees. A daylight shot of the storefront with the sign readable tells people they have found a real shop; a close, well-lit arrangement tells them what you make. Avoid stock imagery, heavy filters and anything with text laid over it. The gallery takes up to eight more, and seasonal work photographed on the bench in natural light does better than anything staged. Uploads are yours and can be replaced or removed whenever you like.
