Contact LocalFlowerShop

Corrections, questions, feedback and ideas all land with a person, not a ticket queue. The form below goes to the small team that runs LocalFlowerShop and RateAFlorist, and the usual reply time is a couple of days for anything that needs an answer. Before you write, the notes on this page cover the situations we hear about most, some of which you can fix yourself faster than we can.

If you run a flower shop

If your listing is wrong, the fastest fix is to claim it. Open your shop's page, use the claim button, create a free account, and once the claim is approved you can edit your hours, phone, address, categories and delivery towns yourself, any time, on both sites. Claims are checked against the shop's public phone and website and are approved by a live person in 24-48 hours. If you would rather not create an account, the quick claim form on your listing page works too; we will email you to confirm.

If your shop is missing, tell us the name, street address, phone and website and we will add it after the same check. If your shop is listed but has closed, or you have moved, say so and we will retire or update the listing. If you want the listing removed altogether, that is your right and we will do it, though most owners keep it: it is a free page with your hours and phone number that customers find when they search your town.

If you have a question about Premium, cancellations or a charge, write with the shop name and the email on the account. Billing runs through Stripe and every subscription can be cancelled from the portal, with the features running to the end of the paid period.

If you are a shopper

If a listing turned out not to be a real local shop, tell us which one and what happened. A relay company posing as a local florist is exactly what the directory exists to keep out, and a report from a customer who was caught by one is the most useful thing we receive. We check it and pull the listing if you are right.

If a shop's hours or phone number are wrong, name the shop and the correction. We will verify and update it. If you had a bad experience with a shop, the place for that is a review on RateAFlorist, where it will be read by a moderator and, once published, seen by the next customer; the RateAFlorist contact page handles questions about reviews you have written.

If you are trying to send flowers and cannot find a shop, search the recipient's town rather than your own, and if the town page is empty look at the neighbouring towns, which usually deliver in. We cannot place an order for you, and we would not want to: calling the shop directly is the whole point.

Press, partnerships and data

Press questions are welcome and get a quick answer. Partnership and advertising enquiries are welcome too, with one limit stated up front: nothing on either site is for sale that would change a listing's facts or a shop's rating. Visibility features are the only paid product and they are labelled as such.

Developers and AI agents can read the directory through the public API and MCP server, which needs no key. Bulk republication of the directory outside that API is not permitted; the terms spell out what is.

How claims are checked

A claim is a statement that you represent the shop, so we verify it before it takes effect. The check is simple and human: the phone on the account is compared with the shop's public number, the email domain with the shop's website where it has one, and anything that does not line up gets an email from us before a decision. Approved claims can edit every fact on the listing from the portal; nothing on the public page changes until the claim is approved, so a stranger cannot alter your hours by filling in a form. If a claim is refused you will be told why and how to resolve it, which is usually a matter of writing from the shop's own email address.

What we will and will not do

We will correct facts, add missing shops, retire closed ones, remove listings at the owner's request and pull anything that turns out not to be a walk-in flower shop. We will explain a charge, cancel a subscription and refund a duplicate payment. We will answer questions about how the directory works and how the two sites relate.

We will not take an order, quote a price, recommend one shop over another, or pass your details to a florist. We will not remove a review from RateAFlorist because a shop dislikes it; reviews are handled there, under their own guidelines, and the only reviews taken down are the ones that break those rules. We will not add a business that is not a real shop, however it describes itself, and we will not change a listing's facts because someone other than the owner asks.

Response times

Listing corrections and relay reports are usually handled the same day, because they are quick and they matter. Claims are approved by a live person in 24-48 hours. Billing questions get an answer within a day or two. Press and partnership enquiries can take a little longer if they need a conversation. If you have not heard back in three business days, write again; occasionally a message lands in a spam folder, and a second one from the same address usually does not.

Accessibility and corrections

If any part of the site is hard to use with a screen reader, a keyboard or a phone, tell us which page and what went wrong and we will fix it. The same goes for a factual error anywhere on the site, from a shop's hours to a claim in a guide: say where it is and what the correct information is, and it will be corrected and, where it changed a page's meaning, noted on the page.

Reaching us by phone

The number on this page is answered on weekdays and takes messages the rest of the time. It is the right route for anything urgent, a shop that has closed with orders still being taken under its name, for instance, or a listing that is sending customers to the wrong building. It is the wrong route for placing a flower order: we cannot do that, and the shop you are looking at can. If you leave a message, say which shop and which town and we will call or email back.

Two sites, one message

LocalFlowerShop and RateAFlorist share the same listings, the same florist accounts and the same small team. A correction sent to either site fixes the shop on both, and a claim approved on one is approved on the other, so there is never a reason to write twice. The only thing that lives on one site alone is the review system, which is RateAFlorist's; questions about a review you wrote or a review of your shop go to its contact page, and questions about facts, listings, claims and billing come here.

Why the form asks so little

Name, email, a topic and a message. We do not ask for a phone number, an account or an address, because we do not need them to act on most messages, and the privacy policy is easier to keep when there is less to keep. Your email is used to reply and for nothing else. Messages are kept until the issue is resolved and archived after that; they are not added to any list.

The corrections we see most, and what happens to each

Wrong hours: we change them the same day and, if the shop has claimed its listing, we let the owner know so the portal matches. Wrong or disconnected phone: we verify against the shop's website or a public record and update it; if no working number can be found, the listing is retired rather than left pointing at nothing. Wrong address or a shop that has moved: the address is corrected and the map pin moves with it, and the change is noted so the monthly status sweep does not flag it again. Shop closed: we confirm through at least one independent signal, then mark the listing closed, which removes it from town pages and the sitemap without deleting the record. Duplicate listings for one shop: merged, keeping whichever has the claim or the more complete details. A shop listed in the wrong town: moved, which also fixes both towns' counts.

One more common one: a shop that appears twice under slightly different names, usually because a business record and the shop's own website spell it differently. Tell us both names and we will keep the one the sign on the door uses.

Reporting a relay company

The clearest signs, if you are not sure what you called: the person who answered could not tell you what flowers they had that day, the price quoted was a round national figure with a separate "service fee", the website had no street address or had one that turned out to be a mailbox, and the shop that eventually delivered was not the one whose name you called. Any two of those together is enough to send us. Include the name on the website, the phone number you called and the town you were searching, and we will check whether it is in the directory and remove it if it is.

What to include

For a listing correction: the shop name, town and the field to change. For a claim question: the shop and the email on the account. For a report about a relay company: the listing and what happened, with a date if you have one. For everything else: enough context that we can act without writing back for it. We read every message, and the ones that need a reply get one.
