Terms of Use

Effective September 22, 2026.

These terms govern the use of LocalFlowerShop, a directory of real local flower shops in the United States. Using the site means accepting them. They are written plainly on purpose; where something is a promise from us, it says so, and where it is a limit on you, it says that too.

What the site is

LocalFlowerShop publishes business facts about flower shops: names, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, categories and delivery towns, so that a person who wants flowers can find the shop nearest the recipient and contact it directly. The site does not sell flowers, does not take orders, and does not process payments for flowers. Any purchase you make is between you and the florist, on the florist's terms.

Accuracy

We work to keep listings accurate: listings come from public records and from shop owners, are checked against each shop's own website, and are swept regularly for closures and moves. Even so, hours change, phones are reassigned and shops move, and no directory is ever perfectly current. The shop's own phone call is the final word on whether it is open and what it can do today. We do not guarantee that any listing is complete or current, and we are not responsible for a purchase made on the strength of a listing.

Using the directory

You may use the site to find and contact florists, link to any page, and quote short passages with attribution. Developers and automated agents may read the directory through the public API and MCP server documented on the site, within the request rates stated there. What you may not do is copy the directory in bulk by any other means, republish it, or use it to build a competing listing service, whether by scraping the pages or by exhausting the API. Automated access outside the documented API may be blocked without notice.

Listings and claims

A shop owner or authorised representative may claim the shop's listing free of charge. By claiming, you confirm that you represent the shop and that the information you enter is true. We verify claims before approving them and may decline or reverse a claim that does not check out. Once approved, you are responsible for what you publish on the listing: keep the hours honest, the phone correct and the photos yours.

We may decline, edit or remove any listing, claim, photo or other content at our discretion, and we remove listings that turn out not to be real walk-in flower shops. That includes order-gathering services trading under local-sounding names, studios with no storefront, wholesalers, and businesses that have closed. An owner may have a listing removed at any time by asking.

Paid features

Premium listings and delivery-town placements are optional paid features that affect visibility only. They never change the facts on a listing, and they never affect any rating on RateAFlorist. Prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel from the portal at any time and the feature runs to the end of the period already paid for. If a feature you paid for fails to work and we cannot fix it, we refund the affected period.

The Verified Local Florist checkmark and the satisfaction guarantee

By purchasing any paid feature, and as a condition of displaying the Verified Local Florist checkmark, a florist agrees to honor the Rate A Florist 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: the florist stands behind its flowers, plants, gifts and delivery service, and will work directly with the customer to resolve any concern about an order. The guarantee is the florist's promise to its customer. We may remove the checkmark from a shop that does not honor it. The guarantee does not make us a party to your purchase and does not create any liability for us.

Reviews

LocalFlowerShop does not collect reviews. Reviews and ratings for the shops listed here are collected, moderated and published by our sister site, RateAFlorist, under its own terms and review guidelines. Each listing here displays the shop's RateAFlorist rating badge and links to its review page. Anything you write there is governed by RateAFlorist's terms.

Accounts

Florist accounts are shared between LocalFlowerShop and RateAFlorist. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for what is done with your account. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has used it. We may suspend an account that is used to publish false information, to claim a shop you do not represent, or to abuse the site.

Content you provide

Photos, descriptions, announcements and other content you add to a listing remain yours. By adding them you give us permission to display them on both sites and in their feeds and previews, for as long as the listing exists, and you confirm you have the right to use them. Do not upload content you do not own or that shows identifiable people without their consent.

Our content

The guides, blog posts, page copy, design and code of the site are ours or licensed to us. You may read them, link to them and quote short passages with attribution. You may not republish them in bulk or present them as your own.

Acceptable use

Use the site for what it is for: finding flower shops and, if you run one, managing your own listing. Do not claim a shop you do not represent. Do not enter false hours, a phone number that reaches anyone but the shop, or photos you do not have the right to use. Do not use the contact form, the chat assistant or the claim form to send spam or to harass anyone. Do not probe, overload or attempt to break the site, its API or its accounts. Do not use the directory to build lists for unsolicited marketing to the florists in it; they are listed so customers can find them, not so vendors can.

API terms

The public API and MCP server are offered free, without a key, for reading the directory. Keep request rates reasonable and identify your application in the user agent. Do not cache listing data for longer than you need to serve a user, do not present the data as your own, and attribute LocalFlowerShop where the data is shown. We may change the API, rate-limit it, or withdraw access from a client that abuses it, and we will document changes on the API page.

Termination

You may close a florist account at any time by asking; paid features stop at the end of the period already paid for. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may remove any listing that turns out not to belong in a directory of real flower shops. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (content licences, limits on liability, disputes) survive termination.

Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If we have a dispute, write to us first; almost everything can be sorted out by email in a few days. Anything that cannot will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Sarasota County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the privacy policy and, for paid features, the prices and descriptions shown at the time of purchase, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. A florist who buys a feature displaying the Verified Local Florist checkmark also agrees to the satisfaction guarantee described above, which is a promise to the florist's customers rather than to us.

Third-party services and links

Listings may link to a shop's own website, to its Google Maps entry, and to its review page on RateAFlorist. Those sites have their own terms and we are not responsible for them. Payments run through Stripe under Stripe's terms. The maps use OpenStreetMap data, which is available under its open licence and credited on every map.

Notices

Notices to us go through the contact page. Notices to you go to the email address on your account, so keep it current. A notice sent to that address counts as received the day it is sent.

Prices, taxes and receipts

Prices for paid features are shown in US dollars on the For Florists page and again on the checkout page before you pay. Any sales tax that applies is added at checkout and shown before you confirm. Stripe emails a receipt for every payment, and the portal shows the current status of each subscription and the date it renews. If a price changes, the new price applies from your next renewal after we have told you, and you may cancel before then with no charge.

Refunds

A duplicate payment is refunded in full on request. A feature that did not work for a period we could not fix is refunded for that period. Otherwise paid periods are not refunded once started, because the visibility they bought has already been delivered, but cancelling always stops the next charge.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions or ideas about the site, we may use them without any obligation to you, and you agree that we owe nothing for them. We ask because people do send good ideas, and several parts of the site began as one.

Assignment

You may not transfer your account or any paid feature to another person or shop; a listing belongs to the shop it describes, and a claim belongs to the person who made it. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to a successor that continues to run the site, and we will tell account holders if that happens.

No warranty and limits on liability

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available at all times or free of errors. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, from reliance on a listing, or from a purchase made from a florist found through it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the effective date at the top will change and material changes will be described here. Continued use after a change means acceptance. Questions go through the contact page.
