Flower shops in New York, NY (page 2)

A rush order for a walk-up on the Upper West Side means something different than one bound for a doorman building in Tribeca, and shops plan routes accordingly. Traffic on the FDR or through the Lincoln Tunnel can turn a short trip into an hour, so drivers learn which streets to avoid at certain times. Brooklyn Heights, Astoria and the Bronx all fall within normal range for most citywide arrangements, and many shops will cross into Hoboken or Jersey City without hesitation. Staten Island runs harder. Some orders end up handed off between shops entirely, passed along a chain of florists who know each other's corners of the city.
